Thirsties One Size Pocket Diaper- Review and Giveaway

I was given a huge stash of previously owned cloth diapers before my little girls arrival. There were so many different brands and inserts and everything from AIO's, flats, prefolds, pockets and so much more. I quickly became aware of which diaper I favored over others. Among the pile of used diapers there were 12 Thirsties covers that have had some wear on them. I was pretty aprehensive to use them with prefolds and other diaper systems but they quickly became my favorite along with any pocket diapers. Needless to say I was pretty amped to try Thirsties One Size Pocket Diaper!

The Company: All Thirsties products are USA-made by a group of  women, many of whom work in the comfort and convenience of their own homes. Thirsties also says their mission is to make it easy and affordable for every family to choose cloth while simultaneously investing in the local economy and sustainable business practices. The company says only the best USA-sourced components are chosen for their products in order to reduce the carbon footprint, to help support domestic textile mills and the local economy, and to ensure that Thirsties diapers will last wash after wash.

The Diaper:  The one size pocket diaper is a two-piece pocket diapering system combining 8 layers of absorbency with a  waterproof exterior. It fits most babies from 8 to 40 lbs.
There is supposed to be no need to remove soiled inserts because they agitate out in the wash.
The diaper came with two inserts...Newborn insert  with 3 layers of microfiber and a  full size insert with 5 layers of hemp cotton. The inserts can either be snapped together for extra absorbency.
The diapers also are available with the new hook and loop or snaps. And of course the diaper is detailed with Thirsties signature leg gussets which I love.

My Review: I first have to say how adorable the polka dance print is. I know we all are concerned about absorbency and leak proof diapers but lets face it, it's the prints that win us over. I also thought for a one size diaper it is a great trim fit.I have a few one size diapers  for my little peanut and they still super massive for her little bum. But this one size is going to grow really nice with her and is not as bulky as others.  The two different inserts included with the cover are really super absorbent and versatile. I first used them snapped together for overnight wear and for day time I have only been using them separate, but tend to use the full hemp insert just because I like how it's not super bulky.
sorry for the blurry photos, its hard to keep a 3 month still:)

I also chose the Aplix closures instead of the snaps and I love how easy and sturdy it is. I am a huge fan of Thristies signature leg gussets and again the trim fit on the legs is really nice and there have been no blow outs so far. My only negative response to the diaper is the pocket is sewn a bit narrower towards the legs then the actual insert so it has a tiny bit of bunching. This has not affected how it is worn or it's non-leaking it just makes it difficult to slide in, especially when inserts are snapped together, but It would not deter me from adding a bunch to my stash. The diaper costs around $21.00 which for the versatile of the inserts and the one size you are getting a good bang for your buck. I would highly recommend this particular diaper from Thirsties especially if you are looking for one size diapers that are going to grow with your little one , I think it is a smart investment.
