Simple City Life

I am not going to lie. I am simply the worst blogger in history. It's 100% true and I am totally OK with that! The reality is, I am busy mom and wife. I'm tired come 8pm and I love spending my days not in front of the computer screen. However, I do love keeping in tough with the world and documenting our life, so as per usual, I will try to do better, but no promises.

I wanted to share a few pictures from our camping trip last month...yes, it has taken me a whole month to get these published. We decided to take the kids on a tour de Arizona, we camped in Holbrook, Az and spend three days taking little trips to explore the ever changing scenery of our beautiful state. These first few shot's are taken as we left Phoenix and headed towards Flagstaff. The sun was setting and we just wanted to take in every changing second of the beauty.

After a rather late arrival, we set up camp and put the finishing touches together in the morning. Nothing like a bunch of brand new equipment to set up in the pitch black night. Being the kids first camping experience in a very long time, we reserved the Super Tent Site at the Holbrook KOA. The super sites were move private, had a nice storage closet and a very handy cowboy kitchen... (a sink and counter top.) We had electrical too, which is nice with kids.

The first day, we drove through the Petrified Forest. Thanks to the Kid In Every Park Program we were able to visit for free! It had been years since I had been to this part of the state, it was more beautiful then I remembered. At every turn the landscape changes, it is truly a unique place to visit.

After our adventures, we headed back to town and enjoyed visiting the Wigwam hotel. We all loved looking at all the nostalgic cars and decor. It felt just like we were spending the afternoon in Radiator Springs. If you are a Cars fan that you understand, if not, you should become a fan.

We stopped at the abandoned Trading Post to get some fun pictures. The kids thought we were crazy ad stayed in the car. Scott and I had a blast looking at the ruins of what was probably a thriving business years ago. On our last day we ventured out to Windslow, AZ. With the help of the internet we found McHood Park. This great park sits along the river and is great for cliff diving and swimming. The water was so refreshing and the kids were brave and unstoppable...once they got the courage to jump. We didn't plan for swimming, so we all enjoyed the water fully dressed!Thankfully the dry weather had us as good as new in no time.

Elliott and Owens first jump- it was a long wait to gain the courage, but worth it!
Of Course we had to capture the famous Corner in Windslow, AZ before leaving. We listened to The Eagles a lot on this trip too.
We can't get enough of exploring the Southwest. Not sure where our travels will lead next, but I'm hoping for JoshusaTree National Park!

Happy Adventuring, where ever you may be- Get Outside!!!
